The SCD-XA9000ES is the flagship for SACD™ and conventional CD playback. This high end single Disc unit adds multi-channel playback to the highly lauded "analog" smoothness, warmth and musicality of the Super Audio ( SACD™ ) format. Its advanced audio Architecture includes six multi-level Super Audio D/A converters with two Digital filters each, an ultra-high frequency filter for SACD's 1-bit Direct Stream Digital™ signal, and a separate filter designed for standard CDs. On 5.1 channel source material, one Super Audio D/A converter applies discretely to each channel. On Stereo SACDs and CDs, three DACs run in parallel for the left channel, and three for the right!
