The Hoya X1 Green filter is expressly designed for taking portraits in a studio, using bright tungsten lights. The bright bluish-white lightwaves that tungsten emits can harshen the warm fleshtones that are required for successful studio portraits. As such, photographers use the X1 Lens filter, when shooting with black and white films. When used with Color films, this filter provides an overall green hue into the picture.
